Engage the board of trustees in bias and diversity programming

The Dartmouth Board of Trustees commits to an enhanced focus on diversity and inclusion, and will complete training on bias and diversity.

Outcome: 

The Board of Trustees successfully completed a multi-stage training on diversity, implicit bias and inclusivity at its June, 2017 meeting, and affirmed their ongoing engagement with and commitment to Dartmouth's inclusive excellence initiative.

Janet Reid, PhD, of BRBS World, LLC led the training that included meeting or speaking individually with 25 trustees over the course of the 2016-2017 acacemic year. She then engaged the Trustees in a 2.5 hour workshop at their June, 2017 meeting that combined a high-level overview with a deeper dialog and interactive session. Cathy Trower, PhD, of Trower and Trower Inc., co-facilitated this workshop with the Trustees.
