Increase Faculty Diversity

Double faculty diversity recruitment fund

The diversity recruitment fund increases resources available for faculty recruitment, professional development activities, and development of a diverse pipeline of candidates.

Accountability:
Provost
Issue:

Increasing the percentage of underrepresented tenure-track faculty to 25 percent requires creative recruitment approaches, networking and outreach activities, professional development opportunities, and the creation of pipeline relationships with graduate insitutions. To offset the additional costs associated with these efforts, the Office of the Provost is doubling funding from $1 million to $2 million a year, starting in fiscal year 2017.

Progress/Status:

A total of $2 million has been allocated for Faculty Diversity Funds for the fiscal year 2017, which began on July 1, 2016.

Outcome:

These funds have been allocated and this task is complete.
