Increase Funding to Employee Resource Networks
Employee Resources Networks (ERNs) -- affinity groups comprised of faculty, staff, families and Upper Valley community members designed to contribute to the personal and social development of their members -- build community across difference. Dartmouth has increased its contribution to support the activities of these groups ten-fold, from $6,000 to $60,000.
The staff working group on diversity report recommended enhanced support and funding of the Employee Resource Networks. They noted that ERNS were inadequately funded, and made the following recommendations:
o Strategically utilize ERN networks to support new, diverse hires and to provide insight into working at Dartmouth and living in the Upper Valley.
o Have senior leadership host meetings with students, faculty, and staff at the start of the year to convey commitment, continued support, and appreciation for this work.
Increased funds have been allocated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2016.
ERNS on campus include:
- The Black Caucus
- Native American Council
- Lantinx Hispanic Council
- LGBT network
- International Employee Network
- Veterans Network
- Asian Pacific Islander Caucus
- EmpowHER
