Post diversity and inclusion plans by every department, division and school on their websites
In 2016-17 every academic department, division, school, and administrative division of the College, will be required to develop and post an annual diversity and inclusion plan. These plans will be particular to each division's role and priorities, and may include mentoring initiatives, curricular offerings, recruitment, training, professional development opportunities and community outreach. The first plans will be completed by March 8, 2017, and will be available on each department, division, school, and administrative division's website.
Work is underway by all divisions to update existing plans and create new plans where needed. Staff tasked to the inclusive excellence initiaitve are developing a list of questions that departments and programs can use to guide their discussions, and sample templates are being developed to facilitate the process.
The Office of Human Resources has completed and posted their plan on the Human Resources website.
Update, June 5, 2017:
In order for departments and divisions to formulate meaningful plans appropriate to their diverse activities, we have extended the deadline for posting plans. Several divsions have created templates with useful prompts and resources for departments to follow, and all plans are reviewed by the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity for suggestions regarding opportunities or resources that might have been overlooked. This involves useful back and forth, and adds time to the process. Final plans are then forwarded to the Office of the General Counsel for final review.
The following areas have had their plans reviewed and are ready to post: EVP area/Finance and Administration; Tuck School of Business.
The following plans are under final review: Geisel School of Medicine, Provost area offices (this is a large area); A&S template for all departments.
The remaining areas have requested additional time to complete their plans.
